Mashantucket Pequot Museum re-opening Wednesday for 19th season

Mashantucket — The Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center, closed to the public since December, will re-open for its 19th season Wednesday.

On Friday, it will debut a contemporary art exhibit featuring some 20 large-format installations, the work of seven North American artists.

Exhibition pieces are composed of acrylic, mixed media, glass, sterling and organic materials.

The exhibit, “Without A Theme,” will open Friday with a free reception starting at 5 p.m., offering the public an opportunity to meet the artists. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Housed in the museum’s Mashantucket Gallery, the exhibit will remain in place until Nov. 2. It is included in the price of general admission, which is $20 for adults, $15 for college students and seniors 65 and older; and $12 for youths 6 to 17.

Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
