Nearly 200 run April 8 in annual Salem Lions 5K

Runners from all over the state converged on Salem April 8 to run in the 24th annual 5K Road Race, sponsored by the Salem Lions Club. Money from the event supports organizations such as Camp Sunrise, the Low Vision Center, and a variety of Salem programs.

Sybil Shapiro of Clinton and Samuel Whittalser of Salem were the top female and male finishers, and the Mohegan Striders were the team winners. Isabell Pazzaglia and Tyler Bouquet won the one-mile race for children 12 and younger.
