Old Lyme-based artist Kristen Thornton has completed a woodland-themed mural for the Lyme Public Library’s Children’s room.

Thornton worked with children’s librarian Barbara Carlson to come up with the design, which they say will encourage children’s natural interest in animals and the environment.

The mural includes birch trees with a deer, a bear and other woodland animals.
