    Mashantucket museum to host educational powwow

    Mashantucket — The Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center will host its annual Educational Powwow on July 6.

    The event, featuring a narrated exhibition of Native American dancers, will begin at 11 a.m. with the Grand Entry of dancers. Drum groups will provide music and an emcee will explain the intention and meaning of each of the various dance styles and provide historical context.

    The entry will be repeated at 2:30 p.m.

    Native artists will conduct demonstrations and sell crafts. Attendance at the powwow is free with museum admission. For more information, call (860) 396-6981 or visit pequotmuseum.org.
