Reps. Chris Soto and Joe de la Cruz to hold budget forum tonight in New London

New London - State Reps. Chris Soto, D-New London, and Joe De la Cruz, D-Groton, will hold a budget forum starting at 5:30 p.m. today at the Public Library of New London to explain the current state of budget negotiations and answer any questions about the budgetary process.

“Just as important as the content of the budget is clear communication about the process. People want to know their voices are heard and that their elected representatives are keeping them informed. This forum will be a great opportunity that further illustrates our commitment to expanding information access for constituents,” Soto said in a statement.

“We have been working diligently to put together an honest budget that has input from all caucuses and invests in Connecticut’s future,” Joe De la Cruz said in a statement. “There have been many long discussions about the budget and I would like to share this information, including information about the recently proposed House Democrats revised two-year state budget, with constituents. I look forward to having many productive conversations with residents about this proposal and am always available to answer any questions.”

Residents are encouraged to bring any questions, comments or concerns that they may have about the state budget or legislation, pending or passed, that affects the budget.

People unable to attend the forum but may have questions can contact Soto at 860-240-1375 or Chris.Soto@cga.ct.gov and De la Cruz at 860-240-1372 or Joe.delaCruz@cga.ct.gov

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
