Groton — The Outer Light Brewing Company has donated three picnic tables each to Groton City and Groton Town, according to a news release by the Groton City Economic Development Commission.

The picnic tables for the city have been installed at Eastern Point Beach while the town placed the tables at Esker Point Beach.

“We feel strongly about giving back as local as we can, and giving back to the community that has helped us grow and shown us so much support,” said Tom Drejer, a founder of the brewing company at 266 Bridge St. Drejer and Matt Ferruci started the brewing company about two years ago.

Short Bus Catering and Johnsons True Value Hardware helped with the donation, Drejer said.

“We appreciate the generous donation and we look forward to a continued positive relationship with Tom, Matt and the entire Outer Light Brewing Company crew,” Groton City Mayor Keith Hedrick said in the release.
