Week 7, or, KA-BLAMMO
Dang, Week 7. Look at what you did:
Ansonia turned Friday night’s much ballyhooed NVL-MAGEDDON game against Torrington into the latter’s doom.
Bunnell rose up and took out defending CIAC Class M-Large champion Brookfield.
Bacon Academy and Fitch done caused folks to lose their minds.
The Abbott Tech/Immaculate UNITED co-op snapped defending CIAC Class S-Small champion Capital Prep/Achievement First’s 48-game Constitution State Conference winning streak.
The 11th-through-15th ranked teams in The Day of New London Top 10 state coaches’ poll all lost (four of which were unbeaten).
KA-BLAMMO.
Hey, Week 7 — great job!
There shouldn’t be much movement within the Top 10 this week.
The CIAC playoff rankings, well, they got scrambled like an egg in a tilt-o-whirl. What a wonderful mess.
About time THE CRAZY took over. And you know it’s only going to get more gaga over the next five weeks. Especially during Thanksgrabbing week.
We couldn't wait until Tuesday to tell you about everything, so here are the multitude of games that YOU need to know (and read) about:
No. 3 New Canaan 24, Greenwich 14
Mike Collins completed 19 of 37 passes for 369 yards and three touchdowns for the Rams on Saturday. It was also the first game that pitted New Canaan head coach Lou Marinelli against his son, first-year Greenwich head coach John (who had also been his offensive coordinator). And, yes, those are pink pants New Canaan is wearing.
