Grillo 60th Wedding Anniversary

Joseph and Vivian Aiken Grillo, of Niantic, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends at the Saybrook Inn & Spa on Aug. 9, 2015.

The two were married on June 25, 1955, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New London.

Joe is a former elementary and junior high school teacher who retired in 1989 after a 20 year stint as principal of the Preston City School.

Vivian is a retired nurse who primarily served the elderly at the Nutmeg Pavilion in New London.

The anniversary party had upwards of 50 attendees and was hosted by the couples five children; Suzanne (Grillo) Lemmon, Joseph Grillo, Catherine (Grillo) Donn, Mark Grillo, and Gerard Grillo.
