Norwich — The American Legion Post 104 will conduct a Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Dec. 15, promptly at noon.

Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed on memorials in remembrance of service members who've died, and to teach the younger generations the high cost of freedom.

Mayor Peter Nystrom and state Sen. Cathy Osten will be guest speakers.

Following the ceremony, Legionnaires will place eight wreaths in Monument Park at Chelsea Parade in Norwich. Nystrom will officiate at this ceremony.

The ceremony is held simultaneously with ones at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as more than 1,100 additional locations in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad.
