    "Ghostbusters" is fizzy summer entertainment

The fanboy uproar about the fact a "Ghostbusters" update was being made with women (OMG!) was absurd. This "Ghostbusters" is fizzy summer entertainment, although I will say I was hoping for more Funny, considering that the cast features Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon (who plays the wild card better than anybody), and Kristen Wiig (who, alas, never breaks out of her straight-laced role here) and that the director is Paul Feig ("Spy," "The Heat," "Bridesmaids"). As the movie goes along, it leans more on the special effects and less on the leads' comic chemistry and inspired riffs. Co-screenwriters Feig and Katie Dippold have woven in clever references to the original, and it's nice to see stars like Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd pop up for cameos.
