New London police find heroin, facsimile firearms at camper
New London — Police said they arrested two individuals Thursday at the scene of a camper — camouflaged from public sight — that contained heroin, materials to manufacture the drug, and facsimile firearms.
The camper, illegally located on railroad property on Fourth Street, was hidden from public view through the use of barricades, cut brush and a camouflage tarp, police said.
The New London Police Department VIS and Narcotics Unit and state police from the Statewide Narcotics Unit-East executed a search-and-seizure warrant for the vehicle at 8:38 Thursday morning, according to a police report.
Officers said they found a video surveillance system, two facsimile firearms, 12 grams of raw heroin, 62 pre-packaged bags of heroin and paraphernalia used to manufacture and package heroin.
Francisco Rolon, 35, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a housing project, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of heroin with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and criminal possession of a firearm.
Alexandra Moya, 30, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a housing project, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of heroin with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.
Police said both Rolon and Moya are homeless.
