Bicyclist injured in collision with car in Plainfield

Plainfield — A bicyclist was taken to The William W. Backus in Norwich on Wednesday with back and head injuries after colliding with a car, police said.

The accident occurred about 3:20 p.m.

Allen Stevens, 39, was riding his bicycle near the intersection of 8th and 5th streets when he struck a white Pontiac Grand Am driven by David Wilson, 52, of 14 James St., police said.

Stevens was listed in stable condition Wednesday evening.

The accident is under investigation.
