Police search for suspect in Stonington bank robbery
Stonington — Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred this morning at the Citizens Bank in the Mystic section of town.
Police said the man did not display a weapon, but left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The robbery was reported about 9:06 a.m.
Capt. Todd Olson said police are investigating whether Tuesday's robber is the same person who allegedly robbed the Core Plus Federal Credit Union in East Lyme Friday morning.
State police have identified Richard Love of Groton, who currently is wanted on an extraditable warrant in a bank robbery last month in Richmond, R.I., as a suspect in the Core Plus robbery.
