Groton man now a suspect in 3 bank robberies
State and local police continue to search for a Groton man who is now a suspect in a string of three bank robberies, the latest on Tuesday in Stonington.
Police said they have identified Richard P. Love as the suspect in Tuesday’s robbery at Citizens Bank branch at 23 Broadway Ave. in Stonington and Friday’s robbery at Core Plus Federal Credit Union branch at 125 Boston Post Road in East Lyme.
Police in Richmond, R.I., have already secured a warrant for Love’s arrest in connection with the Sept. 24 robbery at the Citizens Bank branch at the Stop & Shop in the Wyoming section of Richmond, R.I.
Love may be operating a 2005 gray Chevy pickup truck with Connecticut plates.
