Search underway for missing boater in Lyme

Lyme — Police and fire crews searched Hamburg Cove on Monday for a missing boater.

State police spokeswoman Kelly Grant said state police responded to the area around 3 a.m.

Several Zodiac boats were launched into the cove to search for for a 50-year-old man from the Hartford area who was supposed to return Sunday night, a spokeswoman for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said. At 6 a.m. Old Saybrook Fire Department found his 12-foot power boat anchored by the cove.
