Out of state crew helping to restore power to New London County
Eversource has brought in crews from New Hampshire to help restore power to the 12,223 Connecticut customers, including more than 3,000 in New London County, who remain in the dark following Friday's snow storm.
Utility spokesman Al Lara said that 65,000 customers were without power at the peak of the storm damage. Most customers should have their power back by midnight Saturday, he said.
"Most of the outages are kind of along the I-95 and I-395 corridor," Lara said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. "A lot of the damage is the consequence of wet snow, in particular wet snow on top of pine trees."
According to the Eversource map, 2,568 customers were without power in North Stonington Saturday morning.
The utility listed 1,050 outages in Ledyard, 574 in Montville and smaller numbers in East Lyme, Old Lyme, Waterford, Groton and Stonington.
Groton Utilities and Norwich Utilities are reporting no outages.
