Ledyard -- A Groton woman, who police say overdosed on prescription medication, was charged with driving under the influence Saturday after they say she struck a utility pole on Long Cove Road and then left the scene.
Marsha C. DeLaura, 67, of 300 Brandagee Ave., Apt. 238, was also charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to drive right.
After a witness called 911, police tracked DeLaura to an address in Gales Ferry where she was taken into custody and transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for evaluation. She was not injured in the crash, which took place south of Conrad Court.
