Police: Boswell Avenue temporarily closed in Norwich after car hits pole, evades scene

Norwich — Police on Thursday morning closed Boswell Avenue between 11th and 13th streets after a car hit a pole overnight and left the scene.

The road has since reopened.

Police said they were able, with the assistance of a K-9, to locate the driver, who had a leg injury and was taken to The William W. Backus Hospital.

Police said they would charge the driver with evading responsibility. The driver's name, age and address were not immediately available.

Utility crews planned to replace the pole.
