Driver of motorized cart transported by Life Star helicopter after collision in Stonington

Stonington — A Pawcatuck man was flown to the hospital by Life Star helicopter Monday morning after a car hit the motorized wheelchair he was driving on Route 1 near Mayflower Street in Pawcatuck.
The condition of Raymond L. Lanphere, 77, was not available from police Wednesday night.
According to Capt. Todd Olson, the driver of the car, Mary L. Wise, 67, of Pawcatuck, remained on scene after the 10 a.m. accident.
Route 1 was closed for more than two hours as a crew reconstructed the accident.
Olson said it's not yet known whether there will be charges in the accident.
