Ledyard police make heroin-related arrest over holiday weekend
Ledyard — During their ramped-up effort to keep roads safe over Memorial Day weekend, police arrested one man they said was swerving over the double-yellow lines and had heroin in his possession.
Lindsey Brown, 24, of 30 St. Joseph Court, Groton, was charged Saturday with possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said they found Brown with heroin, drug paraphernalia, $979 cash and three cellphones after they pulled him over for swerving on Colonel Ledyard Highway.
Brown was held on a $10,000 cash bond.
Police also said they issued 35 warnings, nine infractions and four summonses during their holiday weekend enforcement, which lasted from Friday through Monday.
Only one minor motor vehicle accident occurred over the weekend, according to police.
