Police find 121 grams of marijuana, stolen handgun in New London home

New London — A local man was arrested Thursday after police said they found 121 grams of marijuana and a stolen .45-caliber handgun in his house.
James Bowers, 30, of 179 Lincoln Ave. was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a drug factory, criminal possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
Police said they served a search and seizure warrant at the Lincoln Avenue address around 10 a.m. Thursday and found 121 grams of marijuana, $2,580 cash, drug paraphernalia and a stolen .45-caliber handgun.
Members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force - East and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration assisted in the search.
According to police, Bowers previously has been convicted on firearms charges and is banned from possessing any firearms.
He was being held on a $300,000 bond.
