Old Lyme — All lanes have reopened after three crashes in the northbound lane of Interstate 95 backed up traffic for miles between exits 70 and 71, police said.
Crashes included a two-car collision just beyond the Raymond E. Baldwin Bridge, according to the state Department of Transportation. DOT officials said the 2:30 p.m. crash caused the left lane to be closed.
Minor injuries were reported in the accidents, of which two had been reported
between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., according to police, and the tight stretch of highway meant it
was difficult to clear.
No further information was immediately available.
