Norwich — Two people were injured, one seriously, in a three-car accident late Friday on Washington Street.
The crash occurred shortly before midnight in the area of Washington Street and Arnold Place, where police said they found one of the drivers, a 62-year-old man, unresponsive but breathing.
The man initially was taken to The William W. Backus Hospital and later flown by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
A second driver was taken to Backus with minor injuries. The third driver was not injured.
Police, in a written statement, revealed no details of the crash or the identities of the people involved.
A portion of Washington Street, from Fanning Avenue to Lafayette Street, was closed for about three hours during an investigation by a police accident reconstruction team.
