Police looking for man possibly connected to several Waterford burglaries

Waterford — Police are asking residents to be on the lookout after a man who may be connected with several burglaries was reported in the 100 block of Spithead Road on Friday morning.

Police said that the individual who left the scene was described as a heavier-set white male in his late thirties, with dark hair and gray streaks, large eyes, gaps in his teeth and a tight cropped beard.

About 10:30 a.m. Friday, police received a call from an individual in the 100 block of Spithead Road, who reported that a man kicked in a front door of a nearby residence and entered the home.

The man had parked a gray SUV in the driveway. When police arrived on the scene, they spotted a Mazda CX-5 matching the description with license plate VE 2425 that did not belong to the vehicle.

When police followed, the driver with the above description sped off down Spithead Road to Cross Road, and police did not pursue him.

Police said residents should lock doors and vehicles, and they asked anyone who may have any information to call the Waterford Police Department at (860) 442-9451.
