Police: 3.5 pounds of marijuana found in Montville apartment; arrests expected
Montville — State and local police expect to make arrests in the near future after finding about 3.5 pounds of packaged marijuana and $8,700 cash in a Jerome Road apartment Thursday, state police said.
Police said they learned through a tip that a local residence had a large amount of marijuana within. They said they were able to identify 82 Jerome Road, Apt. 217, as that residence after an investigation.
Police then applied for and received a search-and-seizure warrant for the apartment, which they carried out Thursday.
In addition to the marijuana and cash, police said they found and seized drug paraphernalia, marijuana wax, ammunition, packaging materials, scales, cellphones and a money-counting machine inside the residence.
It is unclear whether anyone was present during the search, but police said arrests are anticipated.
