New London — Public and private city agencies on Saturday are coming together to host a prescription drug take-back day so residents can get rid of unused and unwanted medications.

The event, a joint effort of New London Youth Affairs, New London police, the New London Community and Campus Coalition and Walgreens, will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Walgreens, 698 Bank St.

The first 60 people who participate will receive a free digital prescription lock box for use in their homes.
