Stonington police charge man who called them to say he was driving drunk

Stonington -- An Old Mystic man was arrested Sunday night after police say he called them to say he was driving drunk and had crashed into a snowbank on Route 201.

Norman E. Boiselle, 28, of 129 Stephen Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive right just past 11 p.m. He was released on a $600 bond and is slated to appear in New London Superior Court Jan. 20.

According to police, Boiselle also told them in his phone call that his car was damaged in the crash and he had driven home. When police arrived at his home, they said he was under the influence and was arrested after performing a field sobriety test.
