Waterford — A 25-year-old man is dead after a two-car crash on Interstate 95 north Wednesday night.

Jeffrey Patrick Havill of Orange was pronounced dead at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

Caroline Decarval Sedor, 29, of 20 Richard Road, Gales Ferry, was driving a Toyota Scion northbound on I-95 in Waterford around 11:40 p.m., when Havill, who was driving a Chevrolet Corvette, collided with the rear end of her car, according to state police.

The collision caused Havill to lose control of his car, which continued across the left travel lane and into the center median, striking the metal guardrail, according to police.

Sedor swerved to the right shoulder of the highway, where her car came to a stop. She suffered minor injuries and was treated at and released from L+M.

The highway was closed near Exit 80 while police investigated. The case is under investigation.
