    Armed robbery reported Friday morning in parking lot of Cilantro's

    New London — Police said a 24-year-old Uncasville man allegedly held a knife to three victims and demanded their money during an armed robbery early Friday morning in the parking lot of Cilantro's Café on Bank Street.

    Two others also were charged in connection with the robbery.

    No injuries were reported, according to police.

    Police said that they were monitoring a crowd at the 639 Bank St. establishment when they received a report at 12:48 a.m. of an armed robbery in the parking lot. 

    Police then found three suspects who were trying to drive away in an SUV-type vehicle. 

    Andrew Maynard, 24, of 93 Depot Road, Uncasville, who was reportedly holding the knife, was charged with three counts of second-degree robbery, three counts of second-degree larceny, interfering with police, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and tampering with evidence.

    Merfy Rodriguez, 21, of 31 Ledge Road, New London, was charged with three counts of second-degree robbery, interfering with police, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and tampering with evidence.

    Maria Moreno, 40, of 160 Connecticut Ave., New London, was charged with three counts of second-degree robbery, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operating under suspension.

    The three suspects were scheduled to be arraigned Friday in New London Superior Court, police said.
