New London man pleads guilty to sexually enticing minor
New London — A New London man pleaded guilty in Hartford Wednesday to federal charges for trying to entice a minor into illegal sexual activity.
Bryan White, 39, used a chatting service to send sexually explicit messages to a 13-year-old female in New Jersey, according to court documents and statements.
The victim’s father reported the messages to local police, and an officer posed as the minor to continue to correspond with White. White was arrested at the New London bus station after attempting to arrange a date to meet with the victim.
White pleaded guilty to one count of attempted enticement of a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity. The charge carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years' imprisonment, and a maximum term of life imprisonment. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 23, 2017.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Burlington County (N.J.) Prosecutor’s Office, the Florence New Jersey Township Police Department, the New London Police Department and the Connecticut State Police.
