    Teen charged in monthslong Old Lyme vandalism spree

    Old Lyme — An 18-year-old from Lyme has been arrested for his alleged role in vandalizing or setting fire to vehicles, buildings and businesses across town in a monthslong spree.

    Victor Farrell, of 25 Honey Hill Road, Lyme, was charged Wednesday on 13 warrants and held on $44,500 in bonds. Information about his specific charges wasn’t immediately available.

    A clerk at New London Superior Court said Farrell likely will be arraigned Thursday.

    State police said Farrell was involved in the following incidents:

    [naviga:li]Sept. 18: Dump truck and excavator set on fire at 315 Boston Post Road.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Oct. 1: Storage shed broken into and damaged; truck shot with arrows at Lyme-Old Lyme High School.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Oct. 1: Car at 15 Ferry Road spray painted with paint stolen from the high school.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Nov. 14: Storage trailer spray painted and damaged, portable toilet knocked over and light broken at Lyme-Old Lyme High School.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Nov. 15: Car at 15 Ferry Road spray painted again.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Nov. 19: Rear windows smashed out of vehicle at 14 Grassy Hill Road.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Nov. 21: Windows, lights, body panels and mirror of vehicle at 24 Bailey Road smashed.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Nov. 21: Walls, shed and sidewalk spray painted at Lyme-Old Lyme High School.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Nov. 21: Windows smashed out of vehicle at 69 Hawks Nest Ave. (Police said they recovered at the scene the end cap of a baseball bat later found at Farrell’s residence.)[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Jan. 14: Business sign at 445 Shore Road smashed.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Jan. 14: Snow stakes ripped up and stolen from 8 Fairway Lane.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Jan. 14: Windows, body panels and mirrors smashed out of car at 15 Ferry Road. Third time same vehicle was damaged.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Jan. 14: Mail removed from mailbox at 15 Old Stone Post Road, Lyme, and damaged.[/naviga:li]

    Police at the Troop F barracks in Westbrook said they expect other juveniles will be arrested in connection with the same incidents.
