Some New London schools put on brief lockdown Monday as police searched for wanted man
New London — Several schools were put on a brief lockdown Monday morning while police searched for a wanted person.
Between 9:10 and 9:45 a.m., the New London Police Department requested the Smith-Bent Child Center, Jennings School, Interdistrict School for Arts And Communication, Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School and the Multicultural Magnet School be placed on lockdown.
Police are still searching for 28-year-old Hector Pagan who is wanted on multiple felony charges, and who may have access to weapons, according to police. At no time were any of the schools or their occupants under threat or in danger, police said.
Anyone with information about Pagan's whereabouts is asked to contact the New London Police Department's Detective Division at (860) 447-1481 or anonymous information can be submitted via the New London Tips 411 system.
