Lyme — State Route 156 has been reopened after a fatal single-car crash in the vicinity of Lord Hill Lane closed it for several hours Wednesday afternoon.
The crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. Lyme Fire Department Deputy Chief John Evans said the driver of the car, who was an area resident, was pronounced dead at the scene after EMS attempted to administer aid. There were no passengers in the car at the time of the crash.
The Department of Transportation established a detour onto Bill Hill Road as state police conducted an investigation, Evans said.
