Man sought by FBI, police on drug charges turns himself in

Norwich — An alleged narcotics trafficker whom police and FBI officials had been seeking turned himself in Wednesday morning, according to city police.

Javon A. Morse, 21, of 296 Hamilton Ave., was wanted on federal firearms and narcotics charges. Police said he turned himself in to the U.S. Marshal Service at the U.S. District Court in Hartford.

Police called Morse’s arrest “the result of an extensive and cooperative investigation” between the two agencies, which were looking into the trafficking of “significant amounts of cocaine” in Connecticut. Police said the cocaine originated from the southern portion of the United States.

During the investigation, officers said they seized two handguns, ammunition, 2 kilograms of cocaine, narcotics packaging materials, scales, cutting agents, marijuana and multiple cellphones.

Information about Morse’s court date wasn’t immediately available.
