Police: Suspect shot toward crowd of partygoers in Norwich
Norwich — Police are investigating after someone fired gunshots toward a crowd departing a large house party in the area of McKinley Avenue about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release.
Police said several people called 911 to report shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found and interviewed multiple juveniles who were running from a residence on McKinley Avenue at Perkins Avenue.
Officers learned an unknown person shot about five times toward the crowd of dispersing partygoers. Police said they found no victims, but discovered shell casings and bullet fragments throughout the scene.
One bullet, police said, struck a house farther down McKinley Avenue and went through two walls of an occupied bedroom.
Police released no further information.
