Norwich Police seek suspect in stabbing

Norwich – Police are on the hunt for a suspect in a stabbing Wednesday night that left a 27-year-old victim with what police described as a single, severe stab wound to the chest.

Police were alerted to the stabbing at 8:35 p.m. when they were dispatched with emergency medical responders to the area of 56 Boswell Ave. A 911 caller had reported people yelling for help for a male stabbing victim.

At the scene, police said they found Brandon W. Foster of 175 Broadway, Unit 9, on the sidewalk of Boswell Avenue near Lake Street. He had sustained a stab wound to his chest. The scene was secured and Foster was transported to the William W. Backus Hospital by American Ambulance.

The victim is currently listed in stable condition, police said.

Norwich Police detectives, who processed the scene of the crime and collected evidence, are investigating.
