Ledyard — Police said Route 214 at Whalehead Road has been re-opened after it was closed earlier Saturday evening due to "a serious motorcycle crash."

Police said late Saturday evening that the accident happened at Route 214 and Whalehead Road. It involved a motorcycle and another vehicle, with one serious injury.

No further information was immediately available.
