Police expect to make arrests after "altercation" closes Norwich street
Norwich — City police expect to arrest one or more people following what they called an "altercation" Sunday afternoon.
Police closed Hamilton Avenue in Norwich for several hours starting at about 4 p.m. near the Ahepa senior housing complex on the west bank of the Shetucket River after they responded to reports of a fight and that a person who was involved was armed.
Norwich Police Lt. Jonathan Ley said he could not release any details about the incident, when the road was reopened, if anyone was injured, or what the charges would be when police make arrests in the case.
The department's detective division is investigating the incident, Ley said.
"As for the charges and what that will consist of, I do not know," he said.
