New London — Crews closed off the left lane of Colman Street after a pickup truck crashed into the front of a house there Monday morning.

Firefighters said it wasn’t yet clear what caused the wreck, which happened about 10:15 a.m. They took the driver of the Ford F-150 to the hospital.

The affected house, at 11 Colman St., is not far from the Bank Street intersection. Records show it belongs to Rafael Cajas.

Because the impact caused significant structural damage, the truck wasn’t able to be moved until the house was stabilized. Building officials responded to the scene.
