Police: Teen threatened resident with knife in Montville home invasion
Montville — State police on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old who allegedly invaded a Pequot Road apartment Sunday, threatened its occupant with a knife and stole $15.
According to police, the teenager was charged with carrying/sale of a dangerous weapon, home invasion: unarmed, first-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, disorderly conduct: voyeurism, third-degree assault, threatening and first-degree reckless endangerment.
According to police, the teen entered the 20-year-old victim's 52 Pequot Road apartment through an unlocked door Sunday night. He then allegedly held a knife to the 20-year-old’s neck before stealing $15 from a television stand and leaving the residence.
Police learned of the incident when a neighbor who heard the teen threatening the victim called police.
The victim identified the teen as the perpetrator, police said.
Police secured a warrant for the 17-year-old’s arrest and, on Tuesday, he turned himself in to his probation officer.
The teen was due in Middletown Juvenile Court on Wednesday.
