    Police investigating body found along shore in Old Lyme

    Old Lyme — State police say they are investigating a deceased person found along the shore in the area of Hatchett's Point Monday afternoon.

    Detectives from Central District Major Crime are currently on scene and investigating, according to police. State Police from Troop F had earlier responded when the body was reported about 3 p.m.

    First Selectwoman Bonnie Reemsnyder said state police notified her that a body had washed up on shore and they were investigating.

    State Police spokeswoman Trooper First Class Kelly Grant said The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct a post-mortem examination to identify the person and determine the cause and manner of death.

    Detectives ask people who have information related to the incident to call State Police Troop F at (860) 399-2100 or text TIP711 and the information to 274637. Police said all calls and texts will be kept confidential.
