Police: Norwich woman found with marijuana, $2,900 in cash

Ledyard — Police found three ounces of marijuana and $2,900 in cash in the car of a Norwich woman pulled over in a traffic stop, Ledyard police said in a news release.

Daphne Sims, 33, of 41 Yarrington Ave. was charged Wednesday with possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Ledyard police Officer Jason Pudvah was on patrol near Route 12 and River Road when he saw a White Pontiac G5 cross over the white fog line into the breakdown lane, police said.

He pulled the vehicle over and found that Sims, the only person in the car, had three ounces of marijuana packaged for sale and more than $2,900 in cash.

Sims was held on a $5,000 bond.
