Griswold man dies in one-car accident on Stone Hill Road
A 27-year-old Griswold man died early Saturday in a one-car accident, according to a state police news release.
Kyle D. Emmerthal, of 289 Roode Road, Griswold, was driving his 2016 Subaru westbound on Stone Hill Road near Roger Road when the car went off the roadway, police said.
The Subaru struck a stone wall and large tree on a residential property at 270 Stone Hill Road before coming to a stop. Emmerthal, who was not wearing a safety belt, was thrown from the car. He was taken by ambulance to William W. Backus Hospital, where he later died.
Debris from the accident caused minor damage to the residence and cars on the property.
