Get your chili fill before the Super Bowl. Or find the perfect recipe

 February 1, 2012

If you're like me, it ain't the Super Bowl without chili.
I grew up with chili and cornbread on Super Bowl Sunday and you won't persuade me that my mom's is not the best.
But, I love the stuff and am always up for trying different variations. Lucky for me, and you, there's a perfect chance the day before the big game. And, it's for a good cause.
On Saturday from 4-8 p.m., the North Stonington Elementary School, at 311 Norwich-Westerly Road, will hold a chili cook-off competition, aptly called "The Chili Bowl."
For just 5 bucks for adults, $3 for student and $1 for even younger attendees, you can get a taste of what the town's chili chefs have to offer. There'll be pizza and a silent auction, too.
Now that's what I call a good prelude to a Giants Super Bowl victory.
For more info, call the school at 860-535-0377.
