Norwich has bypassed Groton as the biggest city in southeastern Connecticut, and Hispanics have replaced blacks as the largest minority group in the region, according to U.S. Census numbers released Thursday. UPDATED The U.S. Census Bureau said today that Connecticut's Hispanic or Latino population increased nearly 50 percent over the past decade and the Asian population rose nearly 65 percent during the same period.
