Hartford — Hartford police say they found heroin and $15,000 cash in the car of a man stopped at distracted driving checkpoint for talking on a cellphone.
Police said the officers who pulled over 26-year-old Carlos Torres on Friday found illegal contraband in plain sight. Police said they then found 1,000 bags of heroin and the money.
Torres, of Bristol, is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of marijuana, as well as operating without a license and a cellphone violation.
It's not clear if he has a lawyer to speak for him.
