Non-lethal guns stolen from state police office
SIMSBURY — State police say 11 non-lethal firearms used for simulations were stolen from the firing range after a break-in Friday night.
Troopers assigned to the Firearms Training Unit entered the office on Nod Road about 7 a.m. and found that the simunition guns had been taken, along with 11 simunition magazines, according to state police.
Simsbury police had visited the firing range Friday evening for a burglary alarm, but found the door locked and cleared the scene, state police said.
Investigators found that the suspect or suspects had forced their way in through a second floor office door, state police said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Central District Major Crime Squad at 860-534-1000.
