Storrs — UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma has been released from the hospital, where he was admitted Saturday with an undisclosed ailment.

The school says the 62-year-old Auriemma had boarded a plane Saturday morning in Windsor Locks, but decided to deplane because he was not feeling well.

He was taken to a hospital for observation and released Tuesday morning.

The Hall of Fame coach guided the Huskies to an unprecedented 11th national title this month.

But illness forced him to miss he victory parade in Hartford and he did not accompany the team when it was honored by lawmakers at the state Capitol last week.

The school says Auriemma is feeling better and will be spending time at home with his family. They say there will be no further comment on the matter.

Auriemma is 955-134 in 31 seasons at UConn.
