The Garde welcomes back "Girls Night: The Musical"

“Girls Night: The Musical” returns to the Garde Arts Center this week “by popular demand,” according to the theater’s website.

Well, who can argue with popular demand?

“Girls Night,” which played Off-Broadway, centers on a group of female friends … and their dearly departed pal. She watches over them as they have a night on the town and delve into their own issues. Karaoke is part of their night-out plans, which means they belt out such familiar songs as “I Will Survive,” “It’s Raining Men” and “We Are Family.”

“Girls Night” is written by British playwright, author and TV producer Louise Roche.

“Girls Night: The Musical,” 8 p.m. Friday, Garde Arts Center, 325 State St., New London; $28-$58; (860) 444-7373.
