There are many great philosophical questions.

1. What came first, the universe or Kanye? Answer: Kanye.

2. Why is heaven so desirable if any of your loved ones are still on Earth? Answer: Heaven also charges exorbitant property taxes, so ...

3. We know dogs do, but do humans have a soul? Answer: No.

4. And, most important, where can you show up this weekend and see CD release parties? Answer: Two places, actually.

Steve Elci & Friends celebrate the release of their latest album of children's music (that adults will love, too), "Jump in the Puddle," with a performance Friday in New London at Captain Scott's Lobster Dock.

And T Wreck, a local synth/bass + pocket quartet, plays in support of their "NO NADA" EP at the Credabel Coral Lab in New London. Denim Panther and Falconeer are also on the bill. Check out Friday's Daybreak section for stories on both bands.

Steve Elci & Friends, 6 p.m. Friday, Captain Scott's Lobster Dock, 80 Hamilton St., New London; free, CDs available for $10;  (860) 439-1741.

T Wreck, 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Credabel Coral Lab, 153 Bank St., New London; $4 cover, EPs available for $5; twreck.bandcamp.com.
